Chamonix

Great resort lots of challenging and interesting areas to explore, the Chamonix valley is self is a long thin valley, with the ski areas spread out down the valley Brevent and La Flégère connected with a cable car, the other two main areas are not connected in any way to each other Grands Montets (3,275 meters/10,722 feet) and at the end off the valley is La Tore.

In 2004/05 season was lucky to do a ski season in a valley in a small village at the top off the valley over the col called Vallorcine, I worked for a company called mountain retreats http://www.mountainretreats.co.uk/, the chalet was a high end catered chalet three member of staff looking after around 10 people which gave it a great feel, the chalet I worked in was a converted barn which had lot of wood on display great feeling.

The most unique thing about Chamonix is the 22-kilometer/13-mile Vallée Blanche

 Interesting facts –
